LAKE WIND ADVISORY for Central Alabama


BREEZY CONDITIONS EXPECTED AGAIN TODAY

WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE AND BECOME WESTERLY TODAY BEHIND PASSING COLD FRONT. BY MID MORNING...WINDS OF 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 25 TO 30 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED ACROSS WEST CENTRAL ALABAMA...AND WILL CONTINUE TO WORK EASTWARD ACROSS ALL OF CENTRAL ALABAMA BY THE EARLY AFTERNOON.

LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A LAKE WIND ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON. THE WIND ADVISORY WILL EXPIRE AT 6 AM CST EARLY THIS MORNING.

BEHIND A PASSING COLD FRONT...WINDS WILL BECOME WESTERLY AT 15 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 25 TO 30 MPH ON AREA LAKES AND WATERWAYS.

A LAKE WIND ADVISORY INDICATES THAT WINDS WILL CAUSE ROUGH CHOP ON AREA LAKES. SMALL BOATS WILL BE ESPECIALLY PRONE TO CAPSIZING.
