Showers and Thunderstorms Likely

Showers and thunderstorms are likely both today and tomorrow. Hello, I'm Meteorologist, Lauren Whisenhunt.

A Warm front is approaching us from the Gulf and we have already seen a few showers this morning. Showers will increase in intensity and coverage this afternoon, as the Warm Front moves Northward today. We will see periods of heavy rain and a few thunderstorms throughout the day. An unstable air mass will also move northward across the CBS 42 viewing area as the warm front approaches. We can't rule out the possibility for some strong to severe storms this afternoon into the evening hours. The SPC has put western sections of our viewing area from Vernon to Tuscaloosa to Centreville to Selma under a slight risk for severe thunderstorms. Stay with CBS 42 and we will keep you posted on this situation. Tomorrow, showers and thunderstorms are likely as a cold front approaches us front the west. We can't rule out the possibility for strong thunderstorms once again. Temperatures will be in the lower 70's with mostly cloudy skies. Rain chances will back off towards the end of the week with temperatures remaining in the low to mid 70's.
