Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow....

Saturday Morning could be quite interesting with various amounts of SNOW across Central Alabama. Hello, I'm Meteorologist, Charles Daniel

High Pressure will continue to drive colder air into Central Alabama on Friday. We should see a mix of sun and clouds and chilly temps.

As we move into the evening hours, that's when it becomes exciting. An area of Low Pressure will continue to move along the Gulf Coast feeding moisture into Central Alabama. A very similar set up to earlier this week, the Low and the Cold Air actually meet up this time and instead of just rain and sleet and a little snow, we could see rain turning to snow overnight with accumulations up to 4 inches in isolated areas. This may cause a few problems on roadways during the morning and midday hours Saturday. Thankfully it is a weekend day and commuters will be at a minimum. If you do HAVE to head into work, please be extra careful. Ice could be a real problem especially on bridges and overpasses. Temperatures will only get into the low 40's Saturday afternoon which will slowly begin to clear out the snow accumulations.

Through the weekend we will continue to see the extremely chilly temps. Bundle up and stay warm.
